Shifting the emphasis of our ordinary, observational focus

When We Notice Why We Notice What was a site-specific video installation, created for exhibition, NOW THEN: Art in the Moment. It invites us to shift the emphasis of our ordinary observational focus.

The installation was tucked away in the old store cupboard of a derelict shop. Shelved amongst abandoned detritus were tools that Gaby used to make her slip-cast porcelain cubes; on the floor is an old telly. Liquid porcelain slip pours through a sieve on a looped video, a functional process that usually passes by unnoticed.
